More Water, Ape! Now!

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I was out trying to take pictures of bees with my birding lens the other day and couldn’t pass up this robin in the birdbath. They’re just so into bathing.

Specific Feedback

There was some out of focus vegetation in front of the birdbath and I didn’t want to crop all the way up to the edge, so I tried to subdue it. Any suggestions for better approaches?

Technical Details

Sony A1, FE 200-600 + 1.4 TC @ 840 mm, tripod, f/9, 1/1250, iso 1600. Cropped to 6311x4065. Taken June 22nd at 1:37 p.m. under overcast skies.

Dennis: the OOF areas are of no consequence for your image. The image is best enjoyed at full size when the bird’s details can be appreciated through the shower of water drops.

This is just such a fun image Dennis. No problem with with the FG at all. Love the look and the water spray all over the place . . .

My dogs would join the robin for some splash fun. Water drops and open beak shows that this robin is having way too much fun. Exposure, comp, and sharpness are spot on…Jim
