Splish Splash

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I caught this moment of a black-headed grosbeak taking a bath.

Specific Feedback

Cropping? Anything? I already desaturated the BG. Does it want more?

Nice capture! I love the shapes of the water spilling out of the dish. I think the BG is a bit too dominant. It might do with a bit more desaturation or darkening, and you could mitigate it a bit by cropping from the top about 1/3 of the way to the bird’s head.

Love the capture! The water droplets are super! I agree with Diane. Too much BG. Cropping would cure it! Nice work!

Great splashes in this frame, Dave. I third the idea of cropping a bit.
