The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I was out early, taking various shots of an outcropping of rocks that intrigued me. When the sun rose, it changed everything (as it always does) . The shadows created an entirely different composition.
Specific Feedback
I’m not sure about the tones, particularly how high to set the highlights. I tinkered with the tones a lot and wound up here.

I don’t think I’d go any higher with the highlights, Don. I lie the warmth in this image and the flow. There seems to be a nice diagonal flow from the lower left to the upper right with a couple of rock chinks that do a nice job of bringing my eyes back around to the left.
A cool pile or rubble!! I like that the shadows are still on the cool side while the sunlit areas are such gorgeous tones of brown and copper. Wondering how this would be in B/W, to get away from the rocks and into the arrangement of tones and shapes? (Not as a criticism, just as a twofer.)
This has to be seen big to be appreciated. The highlights don’t feel to bright to me at all. Did you fiddle with the colors at all? The cool-toned shadows are lovely.
Thanks, Bonnie. I agree that it needs to be big. I tweaked the blues and oranges but the changes were all small. I increased the orange saturation in a few places and decreased it in others.
Don, I like this a lot! Lots of areas of interest to explore. Highlights and darker tones seem perfect from here. I agree that the BW version is lacking…
I did (before I read your comment). There are many options here. Here is just one. The only conclusion I came to was that the large flat rock in lower left next to frame should be darkened a bit and warmed up. It kind of stands out. I like this image a lot but like your previous cubist one more and the newest one less.
