Critique Style Requested: Standard
The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
I shot this on the way to Quito in Ecuador. The early morning fog is quite dense, but some areas a beginning to lift.
Shot on Canon 6D at f/4, 1/1600s, ISO-320. Only processed to include balancing the highlights and shadows.
Having spent 4 days recently shooting mist / fog in Great Smoky Mountains NP, gives me appreciation of your image and the challenge of dealing with a bright sky and the fog.
The brightness of the sky takes the viewers attention away from the the fog and the landscape. I took the liberty go editing your image. I used one radial gradient to dim the brightness in the sky and another to highight the fog and increase the fog texture using the dehaze function by increasing the haze. Also deleted a sole tree in the ULC that was a distraction to me.
Thanks Gary, I love shooting in fog… but I rarely get the chance to.
