A female Merganser Duck leaving a mostly frozen and slushy pond.

This shot just begged for a pano crop so I did it.
Definitely the right crop, Gary. I love the idea that the duck appears to be walking on water or doing a ballet motion. One other thing I really like is the shutter speed you used. You were able to show just how fast this duck was moving. All its steps are frozen in your image. Nicely done!
Nice job on this Gary, I like how you “froze” the accelerating duck with his eye in focus. The splashes and upward wings certainly speak of movement. Definitely pano shot.

This made me think of the Roadrunner cartoon character. 
The slushy ice surface probably helped with the Roadrunner impression, maybe?
This really is a great capture of an on the move Merganser.
I can’t suggest any improvements, it’s great as is In my opinion.
