Mud-curls

Image(s)

Image Description

Just got back a couple of weeks ago from Namibia. I knew I was going to like Namibia, but was not quite ready on how much I would fall in love with this magical place. There was no shortage of landscapes, animals and close-up scenes to photograph. I think this will end up among my favorites for the trip.

I am surprised that this nice image hasn’t received any comments, so let me be the first to give yu a ‘job well done’.

The understated tones give this a mysterious look that I find appealing. Not really a nit, but you might consider bringing up the midtones just a tad.

Your composition is right on and has many opportunities for different presentations.

Thank you, Preston, and thank you for taking the time to comment. I have tried different contrasts, but I’ll try bringing up the mid tones again. That has been the trickiest part in this image. Again, thank you.

Fritz, I’ve been derelict… This is an amazing collection of mud-curls, where the shapes and textures are set off beautifully by the lighting. Having the shapes flow diagonally across the frame adds well to the sense of motion. The light looks to have some yellow, so I have to ask if this is b&w?

I love the composition of this one Fritz. I can see this on a wall. Nice artistic piece. I like the colors and the lighting.

Hi Mark; I know all about being derelict. I have been meaning to spend more time on NPN, yet life seems to slip past all to fast. Thank you for taking the time to comment. No, this is not a b+w, it just looks rather flat here. I have upped both the contrast and clarity, which has made the image a tad better to look at. new version enclosed. Again, thank you for taking the time to comment, Mark.

Thank you, Ed; much appreciated. The mud cracks in Namibia were quite amazing; I still have a lot of images to go through, but I have a feeling this one will remain my favorite.
