Image Description

This image was taken on a san diego beach where I have taken many pictures before but I have always visited san diego in the fall when the tide is high and the beach is small. This time I was able to get there in winter (in december) when the tide was very low. This exposed me to a whole new area of beach where the water created all these wonderful shapes in the sand. I play around quite a lot on this beach during my week there and this is one I liked how it turned out.

Feedback Requests

I don’t often convert to black and white so I wanted to know if it works in BW and whether it is too busy and you can see the composition there.

Pertinent Technical Details

Sony a7c, 70-300 tamaron lens, iso 64 f/11 1/80. Aside from converting to BW I also did some doging and burning to emphasize the shapes.

Tamar, this works just fine in B&W, as that emphasizes the textures and the flow lines in the sand. As I study this, I particularly like the shapes and textures in the lower left and their diagonal movement across the frame.
