Ripples - water or sand?

This was taken at White Sands National Park, but it looked so much like water I decided to edit to enhance that.

Nik Silver Efex Pro for the black-and-white conversion, motion blur and Orton effect for softening.

Debbie, it’s a fine set of ripples running diagonally through the frame. Although my first impression was of sand, the soft bits angling across the ripples are a water like feature.
