Description
I took a cruise in 2025 along the Eastern shores of Greenland. I was fascinated with icebergs; ephemeral art, shaped by wind, currents and sun. Each iceberg was unique in shape, colors and textures. Each conjured up feelings of mystery, awe, isolation. I just wanted to conserve the wonder.

I love the contrast between the clear, glass-like elements on the left with the dirty, textured snow elements on the right. I might even be tempted to crop out the water, or maybe slightly higher, to give it an even more abstract look. Nicely seen and executed!
This is gorgeous, Laura. I love these ice abstracts, and I’m a fool for that cool, steel blue color. This is wonderful as presented, and I can also imagine several crops from within it. You definitely have a left half comp and a right half comp. As a single image, I’m inclined to crop a tish to eliminate the black triangle upper right and maybe a narrow strip along the left. It might be something like this, but of course, that’s just one possibility among many with such a wonderful abstract.
This is quite nice with a great title. I might be tempted to bump the exposure up just a tad and still keep the highlights from clipping. I notice black strips along the sides and bottom. Look like you leveled the photo and your canvas was set to black and you maybe forgot to use a healing or remove tool to fill it in.
Laura, you’ve got a great collection of textures here, from the rippled water to the small textures in the ice near the water line, the larger triangle that shows flowing action and finally the large “lumps” in the upper right. I do suggest some dodging of the dark triangle in the upper right corner to reduce how much attention it gets.

I put a thin black frame on the image, which I gather is not normal. It wasn’t a canvas issue. Thanks for your suggestions to improve my image.
Can you believe I didn’t even see the black triangle on the edge of the frame until after I posted the image. This is an easy fix:) Thanks for your observations. This iceberg was more black and transparent than most others.
