Hi John,
This is a lovely scene whether it’s peak color or not. I wanted to see if I could add some depth and modeling so downloaded a copy. Trouble is, you don’t have a color profile embedded in your image. That’s probably why the colors look muted and all of it looks fairly muddy compared to how your RAW file probably looks.
This is a good discussion about color space and how to get a jpg properly embedded with sRGB which is the only color space internet protocol language can interpret and display -
You don’t talk about what software you use for editing, but if it’s Adobe, this conversation will be exactly what you need. If you’re using something else, I’m sure the export dialogue has a place for you to assign a color space with whatever file type you choose.
Nicely leading flow that the shore with its surrounding symmetry gives. The color does seem off, but as @Kris_Smith notes it is impossible to judge without an assigned profile.
Well it’s a start! I don’t know what happened to the sky in them though. Also some odd fringing in the treeline reflection. Yellow channel looks pretty hot. Can you post any unedited versions? I’m just curious to see what the basic image looks like and then can suggest processing options. Just be sure to select an sRGB color profile for you export file.
