Z9, 180-600 lens, Nikon 1.4 TC, monopod, 1/320th, f 9.0, 1125mm, ISO 25600, cropped to 2520 x 2929.
Great result at this high ISO, Dave. A faster shutter speed might have helped as the head looks a little soft, but obviously the ISO was a constraint. Nice pose and I like the texture of the tree. I could see removing the bright circle on the right.
I like the angle of the tree in this image, Dave. It makes a nice diagonal, however, it also has a lot of out of focus area. You could mitigate that by using a linear gradient from the left and reducing the exposure in the trunk. that would make it darkest toward the edge where it’s most out of focus and concentrate attention on the woodpecker. I agree with @Allen_Brooks on getting rid of the bright spot as I don’t think it adds anything to your composition.
