I just got this moment of a female nuttall’s woodpecker on a sunlight speckled branch out in the backyard.

Cropping? I wonder if the dappling of the BG and the subject works? What say you?

Given the direction the lady is facing, I’d take some off the left side, Dave. The dappled background works with the plumage of the female very well. It helps show how difficult it could be to see her for a predator. Nice detail in the plumage and an interesting pose.

I took your advice for this version. Yeah?

Good pose and detail in the WP. I like the re-do as there seems to be more pop to the WP. Nice capture, Dave.

Hi Dave, Nice catch and pose. fine details. I like the rework too and agree some room on the left could go.
