Image Description

After shooting some abstract images during a workshop at the Astoria, OR marina, I was walking back to my car when I saw this heron on the hunt underneath an open section of the back dock and I was able to capture several images as he (maybe a she) stalked about searching for a meal. I really like the way his arched, curved neck is echoed by the green, background branch.

Camera: Canon EOS R5. Lens: RF24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM @ 240 mm, f/7.1 for 1/1250 sec. ISO 1250. Edited using Photoshop, Camera Raw and Topaz Denoise.

Robert: Terrific capture of the bird and what a magnificent creature it is. I like that BG branch for the reason you sited but I do think it is a bit too bright and grabs too much attention and takes my eye out of the frame and away from the bird. Otherwise this is pretty special. >=))>
