I took a day trip to Rickets Glenn State Park located in Pennsylvania. It’s about a 1 1/2 hour drive from my house. This park has the most challenging trails of any park in my area. I come home totally exhausted, but happy. There are waterfalls after waterfalls in this park and if you want to take the risk of finding a way down to the water, you’ll certainly find a nice shot. However, the photo I’m posting I took on my way home from the park. It was taken hand held because I was on the side of the road & the sunset was fading. I’ll be posting others I took in the park when I can get them processed.

Hey Donna, you’ve accomplished a really beautiful composition here of an amazing sunset. There’s nothing quite better than just stopping on the side of the road and getting out with your camera taking a few shots and then getting back in. It really saves the knees when you’re hiking. What I love about this photo is that you’ve included enough of the foreground to make it compelling but not so much that you get lost in any negative space or solid colors. You’ve also added enough of the sky to make it interesting but not too much that it overtakes the scene. This is a very well balanced shot and I really liked it.
Donna this is wonderful. Reminds me of a local wildlife refuge. Terrific colors, composition and love the light in the sky. Well done.

David, I always enjoy getting your critiques. I’m happy that you liked this image. It was a great shot to end my amazing day in Rickets Glenn. Thank you.
@David_Bostock Thank you. Yes, it does look very much like a wildlife refuge. Although this was in Pa, we have a lot of these small ponds in NY that are wildlife refuges. Most of them are a little over an hour away north from where I live, but I visit this area often. I haven’t gotten an opportunity to take a photo with a nice sunset there, so this was a pleasant surprise.
