Out of my way!

Couldn’t resist this one when I saw the dredger and recalled this week’s challenge. The dredger was about to enter the mouth of the river and I knew small craft were going fishing in the ocean so I waited and in a few minutes a small craft emerged from the jetty.

Pertinent technical details or techniques:

Canon 7DII: 100-400 at 400mm; 1/1000 f5.6; ISO 200
Seems pretty grainy/noisy for ISO 200. Processed in LR and PS. Converted to B&W as the elements had very little color. Foggy day and the dehaze slider got a good workout.

Alright! An industrial version of “Large & Small”! Good eye to see the opportunity!

David, the large/small combo is quite striking. I too am surprised at how grainy this is. I have noticed Lightroom going grainy in some b&w conversions, especially if I push one of the color sliders very far toward it’s extremes.

Good one Allen. Timing is everything and you nailed it here. and with the long telephoto, it sure looks like the little one is going to ram the big one!
