Overtures

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

After the Preludes to the concerts comes the Overtures. These are the buds I posted a couple of days ago now fully bloomed. I cropped the cactus flower tight because it was overhanging the pot rim and I couldn’t make it work showing the full bloom. It has been very windy so the stacks did not work.

Specific Feedback

Is the tight crop awkward for you. Tighter still to fill the frame with the flower?

Amazing depth of field on all three, Bill. No need for a stack when you can get images like these without it. All are gorgeous flower portraits. I don’t know how you managed to get the depth of field you wanted on that first iris. It’s pretty amazing.

Wow!! These have to be seen enlarged to be fully appreciated! The bit of moisture on the first makes it killer, but all are amazing! No nits on any of them. The BG on the first is also my favorite for the mix of detail and softly OOF space. The "tight"crop on the cactus is just fine!

The colors and detail really pop on these images. Beautiful
