Description

Our garden is busting out. I feel like the proverbial donkey who starved between the hay bales because he couldn’t decide which to eat first. I’ve been home all week attending to the master gardener (my wife Chrissy) who had a hip replacement Monday so I take a tour of the garden to get a break from nursing while she rests. I MUCH prefer being a doctor vs a nurse! Spotted these buds today and expect all of them to open tomorrow or the next day at the latest. We had to repot the cactus earlier this spring and were worried it might not tolerate the move. On the contrary the extra room may have allowed it to bloom even more than last year as there are many more buds showing up.>=))>

Specific Feedback

Pretty breezy today so could not stack the irises but had better luck with the cactus.

Beautiful images, Bill. I don’t see any need to stack the irises in this case. I like the way the surrounding go out of focus in such a mellow manner and the important parts are sharp. Personally, I think the irises look better in bud than in bloom. The cactus is excellent and I’m looking forward to the bloom shots of it.

The diagonals in the first one are really great. Irises are at once organized and all over the shop so good isolating this one. The cactus buds are the opposite and a bit harder to figure out at first, but the it coalesces and things look good. Fuzzy, prickly and on the verge.
