Pacific Madrone

I was fascinated when a first saw these trees on San Juan Island in Washington state because they are so striking with their red, flaky bark. This is a crop of the original to minimize the surrounding foliage, which was too close to properly blur with a telephoto lens. Plus, I liked the bend in this particular trunk.

Jim, this is a fine look at this colorful, bent trunk. The colors are striking and I like how the overall brightness says its a beautiful sunny day.
