I had gone out to the local lake because the clouds had settled just above. Looking for landscape but, found a loan paddler dong his workout. Just caught him as he was finishing.
I liked the clouds and calmness of the lake. Being centered breaks the rule but, I think it works here for me.

I love the scene with the fog lifting above the lake, Charlie. The kayaker seems to add a lot to the image. He appears to be working awfully hard and be very serious about it which feels rather in contrast to the peaceful background. That feeling of tension is augmented by the design of the kayak itself with the nice dull black look and then that bold gaudy logo on the front. The image evokes the same feelings I get when I see people using the outdoors as an arena for competition rather than a place of renewal and relaxation.
Charlie: This is a wonderful capture of a magical moment. The centered placement works for me since you can see the wake of the kayak and there is still plenty of space ahead of the paddler. The atmospherics are marvelous. Top notch shot. >=))>
