Don, your image brings to my mind “alien” or another world! What really works for me is the BW conversion that gives it a metallic look, which I think is what really makes this image. With all that is going on with these decaying fronds and palm parts, the light and contrast work really well for me! I don’t shoot many abstract images, but this is inspiring. Well done!
Thanks, Keith. The word “metallic” hadn’t occurred to me but it’s apt.
Very cool image, Don. the textures are wonderful and I like the absence of real scale in this. I think it’s just the ends of a few old fronds and associated debris, but it could be whole trees. A fine image.
Don,
Very intriguing scene/image. I’m wondering about color… But I know that even without seeing the color version, that it would be even more chaotic; where as b&w reduces the chaos simply because it’s all about tonality and contrast.
Either way, there’s a lot going on and I’m not finding any central interest. I dolike the texture and light hitting the larger trunk areas in the UC quadrant.
I’m sorry Don, but this one is not resonating for me compared to most all your other work. But heck, we don’t all have to agree on everything, right?
Lon, I’m not offended in the slightest. I knew this wouldn’t appeal to everybody. Thanks for the candor.

Don what I like most are the varying textures and the metallic look in processing.
