Peak Light in B&W

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This was taken from the top of the Jasper Sky Tram in Jasper NP, Alberta Canada. The storm was coming in fast and this was the last light before the snow squall hit. Fortunately it was a summer storm and didn’t last too long.

Specific Feedback

It seems I got almost a bit of a rainbow effect in the color version. Any comments are welcomed.

Technical Details

Canon 5DMiii, f16, 1/500 s, iso 100, -2 EV, 24-105 lens at 60 mm.

Hi Ed, Lovely image you have shared with us. I prefer the B&W but that’s probably just me. Well seen and captured.

Hey Ed, my favorite is the color….probaably because I enjoy the contrast of the moody blue with the contrast of the light on the mountain. What do you think about cropping up just a bit to give that more of a focus?

Thank you @guy and @Connie_McClaran. I re-cropped to see if I could place more emphasis on the light on top of the mountain. Thanks for the suggestion.
