The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Back in `21 I had hiked into this preserve to record activity around a Great Blue Heron rookery and noticed this Tree Swallow flying back and forth doing some nest building I presume. Before coming out of his hole he would check to make sure I hadn’t come any closer before flying off.

All comments and suggestions are welcome and thanks for viewing.
Technical Details
Sony RX10M4, ISO 250, f/4, 1/640s, 598mm. Made some adjustments to exposure, sharpened a bit, and cropped from the left to eliminate more tree bark because I wish I had framed him more to the left.

Nice to catch one of these in a natural cavity, Jim. It looks like you were pushing the limits of the sensor on that camera a bit. Have you tried doing noise reduction with one of the modern packages? You might be able smooth it out a bit, especially if you have a raw file. I’m not sure what works and doesn’t on jpgs.
Absolutely right about the sensor David. Couldn’t find the raw file and tried to do some smoothing on the jpg but didn’t do much. Thanks for the critique!
Nice shot of a nesting swallow, Jim. Good job in getting this; my experience has been they are in and out so fast it’s hard to get a shot like this. You might try using the Camera Raw Filter in PS and decrease the clarity on the background and maybe decrease the highlights on the bark, its brightness tends to draw my eye from the bird.
Hi @Allen_Brooks, thanks for your valuable input, especially on the highlights which I hadn’t taken note of. Yes, they quickly go in and out and took me several tries before I got the timing down, ha ha.
