From a recent trip to Mount Ranier National Park. The Fall colors were different than what I’m used to in East Coast forests, but they were quite beautiful

Will, you found a beautiful scene here. The subtle colours are quite striking. I’m wondering if you could tease a little more colour from that gray sky? I see a touch of pink in there.
Dodging the gray sand on the mountain to brighten it a bit would improve this, as well.

@SandyR-B , thanks for your suggestions. I’ve tried them out. There was pink in the sky, but it was mostly a little above my original crop, so I’ve tried a slightly taller version to show this. I did brighten the sand a little. I’m kind of on the fence about whether this part of the picture should be made more or less prominent.

Will, somehow I missed this one. The colors in the foreground ridge are both subtle and very nice. Then you’ve got a fine mix of green/yellow in the middle ground. The hint of pink in the sky adds more interest and a new color. My one thought is to burn-in slightly the white area in the central sky, but that’s a minor nit on a fine photo. The repost lets the sky play a stronger role, which I like.
