Poppies

Cultivated Californa poppies in my garden. The flowers are called “slaapmutsje” in Dutch, meaning “little nightcap”, because of the cover they carry before the petals open.

Han: I love the echo and your DOF management. Marvelous result. >=))>

Beautiful poppy photo, Han. Being from California, poppies are one of my favorite flower. Love the Dutch interpretation of “little nightcap.” Lovely soft focus and dof. Nicely done.

A really nice soft touch Han for such a soft pretty flower. And good idea to use the echo as mentioned and at different stages of flowering.

@Bill_Fach, @linda_mellor and @David_Leroy thank you for your kind comments.
I remember that long time ago, 1985 or so I think, I saw hills in California covered with orange poppies. The slide I made has faded since, but not the memory.

Showing the two stages of bloom tells a nice story of the poppy’s development. I also like the soft focus. Very pleasing image.

Gorgeous!! We had hundreds of them on our property the last 2 years and I’ve never gotten a picture that I like with one in the BG as you have done. Perfect composition and DOF and wonderful color!

Thank you, @Patricia_Brundage and @Diane_Miller. Glad you like the image.
