Hi Alison, welcome back. This is a really nice image here. The eyes/face are nicely sharp and the background blurred to give the sense of depth. I also really like the pose and positioning of the buck. Well done.

Thank you for your kind comments David. These are my favorite animals to photograph.
The lighting adds a nice warmth to this good looking buck and his surroundings. That single out-of-focus grass stem that touches his nose is a minor distraction. The intensity of his gaze is excellent.
