Description
The one advantage Wakodahatchee has over Green Cay Nature Center’s is, you can sit down on the boardwalk and slide your lens through the boardwalk slats to get this low angle shot. Oct. 20, at 8:26AM. Thank you for stopping by.

Canon R5, Canon 100-500mm, f7.1, 500mm, 1/1600, ISO 12,000. the shots cropped by 40% and I used DXO PhotoLab 8’s DeepPRIME XD/XD2s to reduce the noise and tried using a control point the lower the white tail feather by 10%., but just made the feather look gray.

This is really nice, Peter. I know the feeling about spacing of slats on boardwalks. Some of our local refuges make it almost impossible to get a low angle. Your angle and the light on the Gallinule really make this shot special. I do find the angled stick in the upper right a bit distracting, but I know DxO isn’t designed to remove things like that. You might tone it down a bit to see if that reduces the eye magnet effect.
Excellent! Gallinules are beautiful, and this is a great pose with perfect true colours and fine detail. Nice eye and reflection too. I like that little moss-covered stick he is examining - maybe there is a nice bug in there.
I agree that diagonal stick could go away.
A really nice image!
Nice job on the repost Peter. Good details and I love the reflection and that mossy bit he is looking at. I sometimes see these birds at a distance when I am in Louisiana but I have zero shots so this image is a real treat. Well done.
