Description
In the quiet of an early morning, I witnessed a powerful display of maternal care as a hyaena mother gently moves her cub to the communal den. In this image, the juxtaposition of the hyaena’s powerful jaws and gentle handling of her young illustrates the contradiction between great strength and tender maternal instincts.
Specific Feedback
All feedback is welcome. Feedback on composition, lighting and elements of story is particularly appreciated.

Garnet, this is a really sweet image. It’s hard to believe that the incredibly-strong hyena jaw capable of 1100 psi - nearly twice that of a lion - can also be this gentle, when needed.
Excellent image - great light, eyes visible, great poses, and natural environment. Even the ever-present flies are visible.
There is some fuzzy stuff along the mid-back of the mom, and along the lower left edge that might be cleaned up…
Very fine work!
Thanks for the very helpful comments @SandyR-B , @Jim_Zablotny and @JRajput . Unfortunately, photoshop and I do not get along well so I have made corrections using Lightroom classic. I will upload the revised version as soon as I figure out how to do that
This image beautifully captures an extraordinary moment. It’s a rare and touching glimpse of the bond between the Hyena mom and the cub in the wild, showcasing a blend of strength and tenderness that’s truly special. Moreover, the wonderful light simply accentuates the impact of this image.
Another great image Garnet. I love the expression on the little guy’s face in this one. Firm but gentle is the touch of a caring mother. This has really nice lighting, great action. Good work, and good work on the very minor cleanup.
