Ready to fly Updated

Critique Style Requested: Standard

Description

At the canyon nearby trying to catch birds in flight. This one just let go to fly. I liked the angle in this one

Specific Feedback

I cropped but left just a little bit on the left to show the wooden post. Should I come to the left and remove that space. The background on the right was harsh. l lowered the exposure a bit and desaturated it. It was green. That pattern seem off

Technical Details

Canon r5 ii rf 200-800 at 800mm f/13 1/1600 iso 6400. Used denoise in ON1 photo raw 2026.2 HH

HI Dean, I like the angle as well since we get to see many areas of the bird - head, primaries, under body, and tail. Great look at that piercing eye. Crop looks good to me with more space in front and room for the bird to gaze down into. Background looks good to me also. Nice image.

Nice pose, Dean, showing a lot of detail throughout the woodpecker. Composition and background look good. I could see maybe brightening the head a bit.

Nice detail, Dean and you certainly caught it at a cool moment. You might look at cropping in from the left enough to remove the background there.

Thanks for the feedback, @Dennis_Plank , @Allen_Sparks , and @Allen_Brooks. I agree with the crop and made adjustment to the lighting on his head
