Red-breasted Nuthatch with peanut

This is a perch right next to my backyard bird setup. This nuthatch found a peanut that some other bird must have hidden away there. He seems puffed up from the cold this afternoon.
These birds rarely pose for photographs - always on the move - so I was glad to catch this one with one of the peanuts I provided.

Very good, Allen. It’s unusual for them to stop long enough for my slow reflexes. A great pose and I love the perch.
