A plump little bird. Nice pose and excellent focus. Lots of fine detail. Hopefully you can entice this little guy onto your set up perch.

A great, inquisitive look you captured. I like the perch quite a bit, and the variation in the BG goes a long way here. Techs are spot-on. One of these days, I’ll remember to stop down too! My only nit is that I think you can handle a bit of contrast. See what you think of the below. I just set white and black points using a curves layer.

Cute little guy! The increase in contrast looks good on the bird and brings out the lovely subtle details int he BG, but the shadows, even on the original, feel too heavy. I wonder if it is possible to soften then and bring out more detail, then after that look at the black and white points?

A very good image of this guy, Allen. The shadows don’t bother me much, it’s obviously fairly well into the day from the angles. The bump in contrast does make the bird pop more.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Lyle, your rework looks very nice.
