Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

There’s a stretch of road I like to drive thru looking for raptors to photograph this time of year. I had good luck a couple of mornings ago and snagged this one taking off. I took a look at it as a B&W and liked it that way.

Excellent, Dave. I like the take-off pose and the branches on the right need to be there for the action. I think there would be more of a feel of the bird soaring into unclutter sky if the isolated clumps to the left of center were removed, but maybe that’s not the feel you’re going for-just my interpretation.

Hi Dave
The B&W adds a new look to this photograph. Nice work.
Peter

Nice catch Dave and the black and white treatment looks really good. A fine take off pose - love the outstretched wings. Well done.

Good timing on the take off and the black and white works well here-good idea.

A very nice pose and the BW comp looks good. The wing position is especially nice…Jim

WOW !!! This is a beautiful Image !!! Works so good in black and white. The wings and his eye really speaks to me. !!! Perfect as it is.
