Christine: Hard for me to choose between this one and your other Quetzal shot. I may prefer this for the frontal view exposing the red on the breast and the flower on the tree but I love the tail detail on the other. Both are amazing and beautiful captures. >=))>

Thank you @Bill_Fach .

What a beautiful photograph Christine. What I like about it most is the composition and capture quality. To me, I really like to see the environment around the subject to add context and by including the plant growing on the branch and branch with the moss just enhances the capture. And you have the bird looking at the flower growth! I did not look at this photograph in detail but your other had noticable noise. Maybe try eliminating a bit of noise. Very nice. Congratulations.

Thank you @stephen_rauch . Appreciate it! As these were raw photos, I did use Lightroom Classic’s Denoise feature. It helped, but with the misty conditions and low light, couldn’t clean it up completely. I kind of like that though. Ironically, the picture you like the most, had the highest ISO - 11400, shot at 1/3200 sec. at 4.0. The other was 1600, but shot at 1/1600 sec. at 2.8. I could have run it through Topaz or DxO, but chose to stick as close to the original as possible.

Such wonderful birds. I’ve always been partial to the front view thanks to that red belly, and I love the placement with the bromeliad here.

Thank you @Max_Waugh !

Christine, this is an excellent view of this bird that is made extra special by the bromeliad.

Thank you @Mark_Seaver !

@framingtheuntamed I have to say I’m incredibly jealous of this photograph. We made two trips to Costa Rica and the Rio Savegre area and only caught a few brief glimpses of the Resplendent quetsals. This is a wonderful image of a spectacular bird. The bromeliad, the moss, the ENTIRE tail… you got it all! Thank you for posting this so I could see what they really look like.
