Rooftoppers

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I discovered around 20 turkeys hanging around on our roof yesterday that did not appear to be looking for food, or anything else. Oh, and there were another couple of dozen down on the ground nearby. Here are a couple, one of which is jumping back down to the ground.

Specific Feedback

I’m wondering if that BG branch going into the back of the flyer is worth cloning out. If I think about it, it looks like the bird is suspended on the branch. I decided to leave it alone. You? Cropping okay?

The background branch doesn’t bother me a bit, Dave. With that many turkeys hanging around, do you bother going to the supermarket?

Ha! There ARE plenty of them around here (protected) but I’ll pass on eating wild turkey. The one, and only time I ever ate it I was a bit underwhelmed. Dry and tough. I’ll take a Butterball any day.

Great to get them so well positioned and in focus. I thought that branch was a bit of a nuisance when I first saw the thumbnail. If the shot were mine I’d clone it out to raise this to top level - but just my taste.
