Very nice, Balan. Detail in the bird is quite good and I like the composition with the bird looking around the perch a bit.

I like how the bird is peeking around the tree to look at the viewer, Balan. Nice light on the tree and bird.

The moment is terrific. The harsh lighting works in your favor here, by lighting up the subject without any distracting shadows. Love that the eye appears to be focused on the viewer.

I am not loving all of the tree bark, however, as it’s (at least) half of the frame, and has a lot of compositional weight. There is a part in the upper right that draws the eye away from the subject. I would suggest a crop (same ratio, essentially 2x3) that puts the bird’s eye on a power point.

Other ideas include a teeny bit of vignette to control the corners on the right side, using dehaze and anti-clarity to darken the background and give it some character, and a teeny bit more highlights/texture on the subject. But I tend towards drama, so…

Really great capture! He has so much character. Well done.

Gary thanks so much and thats a lot of learning for me…many thanks again
