Hi Ronald, this is a very pleasing photo in many ways. The stones make a nice background for the flowers and other vegetation in front; they, in turn, serve to soften the effect of the stone. This is certainly not a formal garden but rather one that could be in any country meadow, which adds to it’s attraction. The variety of vegetation, from the flowers and grasses to the brambles, lends interest to the scene. Can’t identify the type of stone; much lighter in color than our New England granite, without a discernable grain pattern either.

I agree with Jim in that the combination of soft and hard textures really adds to this image. But for me the big reveal came when I zoomed in on the large image and saw the hints of the landscape through the holes in the wall. I really like it and have no particular suggestions to improve it.

Ronald, the hard/contrast between the large stones and the flowers and greens works very well. Nicely seen.
