Critique Style Requested: Standard
The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Kinglets move so fast it’s hard to get a decent shot, let alone one where the crown shows as well as this one. Somewhat harsh lighting with shadows. These were taken in the same locale and roughly the same time and are probably a breeding pair.
Specific Feedback
Any thoughts appreciated.

HI Allen. It looks like the light was pretty harsh when you took these, but they’re so tough to get any time, that I’d certainly keep these, particularly the one showing the crown so beautifully. Both are very sharp. I don’t know your processing, but you might try just pulling down the highlights a bit in the raw files to mellow them out before the rest of your processing.

Hi Allen
As Dennis stated, both posts are sharpened in the second post the highlights on the right side of the frame could be lower. Maybe you could look at taking some of the top off of the first post.( this is a nice head-on shot and closing in on Kinglet, might enhance the shot).
Nice work.

These are really nice crisp looks at a very fast and secretive bird Allen. I like @Peter_Morrissey’s suggestion for a crop off the top of the first one, and anything you can do to reduce the brightness a bit would enhance these a bit more.

Hi Allen. Nice captures and good advice above. I find these so hard to catch with a camera so these images are a real treat. Love seeing the red crown in the first shot.
