The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
The timing is perfect for this challenge in the Mid-Atlantic as the spring ephemerals finally started to bloom in the last week. (Several weeks later than usual due to a long cold winter.) While this one is growing in my garden, I know multiple places locally where they can be found. In addition to white, like this one, they can also be a deep purple.
Specific Feedback
This flower is so small that it’s very difficult to fill the frame with a single flower. In this case, I like the leaves and bud that are starting to open.
Technical Details
R5, 180 mm macro, 1/640 s, f/13, iso 800, tripod. A 17 shot stack for dof on the flower, cropped to 4x5.
Very well done, Mark. I really like the way the leaves mimic the colors of the leaves on the ground. I never realized the flowers on these were that small. I think including the bud in the composition was an excellent decision.
Very well done indeed, Mark. I really like the open bloom with the bud next to it. It makes me think of generations, the younger looking up to the older. Very nice.
Too early here for any flowers, but maybe in a few weeks. This is a nice close up - the bud in the curl of leaves is especially gentle and kind of cozy. The middle of the flower is such a brilliant green that it is a harbinger of things to come. It’s so interesting how many very early flowers use the red leaf strategy for avoiding being eaten and to improve temperature control. At least I think I remember that from my reading.
