Description

Here are a couple of sandhills that I captured recently.

Specific Feedback

I realize this is a “butt shot” but, to my eye, it has appeal with the head turns. What say you?

The head turns help, Dave, but I’m having problems with the lack of focus on the rear bird. Something about the bokeh in that bird’s head bothers my eye a bit. Even though it’s behind the other bird, it’s enough larger that having it out of focus is something of an issue for my taste.

Any time I can get a crane in the viewfinder is a good day. If they’re hanging around the area, you might just sit and hope they turn toward you. There were a bunch where I was last weekend and I don’t think I got a single usable image, largely for this same reason.

Hi Dave, not so much bothered by the" butt shot" the rear bustle is a big part of the birds make up, as the out of focus on the eye especially the lead Crane.
