Sandy Cape Lighthouse museum

Hi all.

Sandy Cape lighthouse is on the northern tip of Fraser Is (K’gari) in Queensland, Australia. Fraser Is is the biggest sand island in the world. Getting there is a trial (once you’re on the island) as its a 2 hour drive up the beach from Orchid Beach when the tide is low and the Ngkala Rocks bypass is passable (Search for Ngkala Rocks online). Once there it’s an hour’s walk up the driveway through the dunes. The view is worth the effort.

Anyway, next to the lighthouse is this shed that holds an assortment of historical items. The shed is dark, the window bright, the bench skew-whiff, a plastic sleeve amongst the bottles. The shot is taken hand held through a gap in the steel security door.

I’ve been there maybe 4 times but this is the best shot I could get and that in 2011.

Shot on a 7D with an EF 24-105 f/4 L @ 24mm, 5/4.2, 1/80, ISO100.

Interested to see what can be done.

My Edit

I like the edit and wouldn’t do anything much differently I don’t suspect. One thing that comes to mind is to maybe reduce the intensity of the red life ring. Cool bottles and I like the view to outside.
