Shadow Bridge

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

On a walk a few week ago after visiting my sister. This bridge is in a park near her house. A metal and wood structure that I felt had good lines and all this shadow on the floor of the bridge. So I shot some images from different angles and just had fun seeing what I can come with …

Specific Feedback

Tried to keep it as natural with all the sunlight as I could. Did not want to over edit but there a few spots that may need some work. I just left it as i saw it…

Technical Details

Shutter 640 ISO 500 f18 edit in Photoshop … some dodging and burning. Contrast changes.

I do like the angle and the shadows a lot, Gill. That identification plate or whatever it is in the lower center tends to draw my eye more than I’d like.

I never notice it. Maybe ill Take it out. Thanks for showing interest. I wrote a Prog Rock piece of music for this image. It is in a rough demo but ill record it the best I can for my book “Walk” This image will be in my book. For FUN !!!

I like it as is. Nice composition and, as Dennis points out, great use of shadows. The plate seems to say this is a Pioneer Bridge. Maybe historical?
