Shaking Quaking Aspens

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This was taken in Colorado near Ouray. I was with some other people and couldn’t take the time I wanted to explore this lovely grove of aspens and only got a few shots. I used a slow shutter speed and a touch of ICM to emphasize the wind in the aspen trees.

Specific Feedback

Any feedback is welcome.

Hi Chris,
I’ve thought of doing that as well to show the motion of the quaking leaves! Aspens are one of my favorites, especially in fall. Love the golds and tree placement. Only thought I would have is to take down the blues in the tree trunk a bit. Blue & gold are great together, so maybe not all of it, but just more subtle?

Very interesting, and a great idea! I love the degree of abstraction! I think @Connie_McClaran has a good idea about the blue – the trunks pull my eye from the gorgeous leaves a bit too much.

@Connie_McClaran @Diane_Miller Thank you. I did bring down the blue trunks a bit, but I guess I need to go a little further.
