Autumn Aspens Abstract

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This was taken west of Bishop, CA on a recent trip to the Eastern Sierras. After a bit of a rough start the tide turned and I hit the autumn color at peak. This was my birthday trip, so I guess the universe gave me a birthday gift. It was a wonderful trip in so many ways.

Any feedback is appreciated.

I like the way the feel of aspens comes through in this image, Chris. The pastel tones are an interesting take on autumn and give it an indian summer feel.

Wonderful!! I love the composition with the greens forming a nice base and the trees rising above. There is a nice diagonal balance between the more dense aspen foliage and the bush in the LL corner. The detail everywhere is just right and the blues are a very nice accent.

I would be tempted to add canvass on top and see if I could get the aspen color to come to an end before the frame edge. With the multiple tries I need to get a good image of this sort, sometimes I will have two frames with one better on the top and the other better on the bottom that will stitch into a pano.

@Dennis_Plank @Diane_Miller Thank you so much for your comments and suggestions.

Lovely image - the soft, subtle colours are very peaceful and soothing for me. Really nice…

@SandyR-B Thanks!

I have viewed this image several times and at first I thought of making a few small changes such as contrast and luminance of selected colors , However, upon further review , I like it as is!! . My eye tends to rest long enough on the image to enjoy the subtle details and the softness is relaxing. Well done !!!

@Jmill59 Thank you, James, for your feedback.
