Shell Labyrinth

![Shell Labyrinth]

Taken over a year ago on a cold February day at CT’s Hammonassett Beach State Park, overlooking Long Island Sound. Walking a labyrinth often gives one a sense of peace and tranquility. The surface is made up of 1000’s of cowry shells that wash up on this part of the beach. This scene attracted me because of the repeating lines of stone and the combination of pink shells and blue sky. I wish now I had included a bit more to the left.

Nicely done Jim. Between the repeating concentric circles, and the big sky with clouds, there is a sense of vast scale in this image, like the viewer is looking off to infinity. I like the diagonal flow of the composition, the repeating circles do a good job of pulling my eye to the horizon and clouds. I’m not sure i agree that you should have added more to the left, I like the flow of this composition as presented. Processing looks spot on to my eye too.
