Hi Ingrid, nice use of light to show us this animal in the dark. The rim lighting makes for a pretty dramatic effect. Unique image that looks well thought out.

Hi Ingrid,
the image is great. I love this silhouette.
The light shows just enough of the scene to make it easy to recognize what it is.

I have seen these cute little creatures in Namibia. It was fun to photograph them.

Hi @Ingrid_Vekemans,
This is such a wonderful idea and well executed. I think of silhouettes as imparting a kind of privacy, dignity and introspection to the subject, do to accomplish that with a squirrel-like animal is really interesting. It elevates the creature. I don’t know how big it is, but it seems small, and yet the treatment gives it gravitas.

Nice work,
ML

Very interesting frame and very nicely executed !
Any particular reason for placing the horizontal line in the centre?

PS. Somehow, I find your logo a bit too bold, but that’s typically me.

Hi Allen, thanks for your appreciation!
It was actually bright day light, so by underexposing a lot and photographing against the sun, I could create this silhouette.

Thanks so much, Sandipan!

Thank you, Jens. They are indeed cute little creatures. For me all creatures are worth photographing when the setting or situation is promising. It doesn’t always have to be lions or elephants

Thanks so much for your appreciation Marylynne!
As for size, you can indeed compare the body length to that of a squirrel, but its head is bigger, and its body fatter :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
Also it has no tail.

Hello Jagdeep, always nice to get your comments
The reason for placing the line in the centre was because otherwise lighter details would have come in view at the top, which would have pulled attraction away from the subject. And yes, the logo, I know… I try to make it as inconspicuous as possible, yet reasonably effective.
Grt, Ingrid.
