Smoke on the Mountain

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This is just North of Fort Independence, California along Highway 395 looking at the East side of the Sierra Nevada Range. There was a big fire East of Mono Lake that was putting out a lot of smoke which was blown South along the Owens Valley. The smoke was obscuring the Sierras which I felt made an interesting, albeit somewhat bleak image with the saltbush and lava ridge in the foreground.

Ed, you’ve got fine colors and textures in the foreground and a good looming presence in the nearly obscured mountains. It makes a dramatic scene.

Thank you @Mark. I appreciate your feedback.
