Snow!

Not as dramatic as high winds on the sea, but we got hit with a double snow storm last weekend that hasn’t melted off completely yet (and that’s a lot of snow for this area). This was taken during the last of the snow falls on Monday afternoon. A couple of hours later, we were out shoveling the driveway for the third time when it turned to rain. It was snowing really hard when I took this and I just grabbed the 5DIII with the 70-200 f/4 and stepped a couple of paces outside the covered back porch to take some memory shots.

Very pleasing Douglas fir covered with snow.

The shapes of the snow covered trees stand out very well here, Dennis.

Dennis,

Now that is quite the dumping of snow! And what a great way to depict the stormy, snowy conditions. Those pines are beautifully flocked.

Of course I’m wishing the fence wasn’t there, but actually, there’s a gentle curve and some symmetry to it, so it’s not minded (It’s my old ES&S influence… if anyone remembers that.) I guess you would have had to put your snow boots on to get over the fence…

Beautiful, winter wonderland postcard image.

A real nice peaceful wintery scene.
