I know the surrounding brush looks pretty messy. But I liked the big kind of leaning pine tree and again the snow storm that we were in. Like my other tree shot.

Phone. Experimenting with shutter speeds. I used 1/120 to try and get the shape of the snow falling.
I really like the shape of that tree and I love the green in it but you’re right, the background, especially on the right side feel a bit messy.
With your recent images it looks like you had some fun experimenting with flying snow and shutter speeds for creative effect.
The pine tree does have an interesting shape as well, and makes for a great subject. As you already suspect, the background trees do not help the image. Not only are they “messy”, they also merge, or blend into the big pine tree. This merger detracts from the interesting shape of the big pine. Sometimes you can eliminate mergers like this by walking around to find a different angle of view that eliminate background clutter. That may or may not have been possible to do here, but it is something to consider for future shoots.
