Snowy Stance

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Here’s a backlit pose of a snowy egret I got that I liked. I just wish it wasn’t standing on a manmade pipe.

Specific Feedback

Does the nifty sunlit feather detail make up for the pipe?

The pipe doesn’t bother me much, Dave. I am seeing a lot of noise in the shaded part of the bird and the background-I don’t know what you did for noise reduction, but a little more might be nice.

Hi Dave, the rim lighting achieved around the bird in this image is pretty effective especially the puffy feathers near the tail. I see noise on the bird and background so I’d say some noise reduction is in order.

Hi Dave
The pole does not concern me, I like the framing. The Snowy looks a little desaturated (beak and feet) and you already know about the noise.
