Beautiful job on the lighting and contrast in this one, Gill. To me, it feels like a bit more room on the right if there’s nothing to mess with it would balance the image a bit more to my taste.

I put the needle section more to the right to show some of the sewing table and the plate. Thanks for showing interest.

A nice image Gill, very evocative, I can almost smell a musty workshop.
I didn’t know if I might not try to gently up the texture of the lighter parts of the machine at the bottom of the frame just to see if it gives a little more impact.

Sure I would love to see your vision.

I love this old stuff and you have presented a wonderful image here!! I also feel the need for a bit more canvas on the right – but that’s not knowing how wedded you are to this aspect ratio.

There is a darker triangle on the upper left edge – easy to clone.

I hope you’ll let us see more images of this wonderful object! It is perfect for your vision!

Thanks I dont see a triangle on my lap top. not sure. feel free to clone if you want to. The table and the plate where you access the Machine has really interesting Tone so that is why I framed it the way I did. I love the old vintage look. Ill post another photo of this machine mostly for the name of the sewing machine … I took the photos for my book of images after my Mom passed. In her memory.

Your screen may not be showing (separating) dark tones well. Here is an exposure bump to show it – you can do that in PS with an adjustment layer for Exposure or Levels or Curves, then clone on the actual pixel layer below it then delete the adjustment layer. The boosted view lets you see if the cloning is sloppy (which it often can be).

Thanks so much for seeing the issue with my image. I looked in my book where the image was printed and couldn’t see that. I fixed my image… Thanks for showing interest in the sewing machine images. Mom would have a smile on her face…

Printing will often scrunch up darks.
