Simple to the Eye

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Another image I decided to post keeping the vibe of simplicity. To walk around and see something we see everyday and I thought I would make an image… As I age I’m looking around and seeing things even more simpler. It’s like playing that one perfect note on the guitar. I guess it is all the same to me.

Specific Feedback

Subjective Photography.

Technical Details

ISO 400 Shutter 400 f 18 edit in photoshop. very little editing.

Gill, I like what you’ve done with this!

I had some ideas shown below, which include a high-contrast B&W conversion and some cropping to better focus the eye on the graphic qualities of this image. I hope you don’t mind and find this useful;

Don’t mind at all. Your cropping idea was something I toyed with. A lot of my images bleed off the edges so this image was kept with no cropping. I like the cropping and more contrast look.
Thanks for showing interest. :camera_flash::camera_flash::camera_flash::pray::pray::camera_flash::camera_flash:

Gill, the stark simplicity and very interesting shape work well here. I do like how Jim’s crop makes the view even more about the shape. The two bits of leaf are a good change of pace.

Thanks for the feedback Jim’s edit works great. I like both versions. The NPN is a great place to share our image ideas and offer different variations of an image. Always learning.

Nice high contrast image, Gill. I do like what Jim did as well.

Thank you. Yes Jim’s edit is really good and I love seeing another path.
Always learning and seeing the world around us.

Gill: I’m going to be a bit of a contrarian and go :-1: on the crop. My only nit with your original post was the one branch exiting the frame when all the others are contained. Here’s my quick and dirty remedy.

On a completely separate note, I noticed that you uploaded a full size image (3481x5063). Site recommendations are for posts 2000 pixels on the long side. Not a requirement but posting larger images often leaves you to the mercy of site downsizing changes. >=))>

Thanks for showing interest in my image. I think your edit works fine.
